FORGING
--- FORGING (SKILL) ---
This skill enables a character to both create their own equipment from raw
materials and repair their damaged equipment for free.
The FORGE command allows you to create weapons or armor. You must be holding
the raw material you wish to use, and you must be standing in a room that
contains an anvil or a forge. The quality of the object that you create will
depend on your level, the quality of the raw material you're using, and your
rating in the FORGING skill. You can specify the exact level of the item you
are creating, but you cannot create an object higher than your own level. If
you do not specify a level, your current level will be used as a default.
Using the FORGE command costs 200 movement points.
The FIX command enables you to repair your damaged equipment. You must be
standing in a room that contains an anvil or a forge, and the attempt will
cost 80 movement points. If an item is severely damaged, it may take several
successful attempts to completely repair it, but each attempt to FIX an object
carries the risk of damaging or destroying it. The chances of destroying an
object decrease as you rating in the FORGING skill rises.
The REFIT command resizes a piece of equipment so it can be used by smaller or
larger characters. You must be standing in a room with an anvil or a forge,
and there is a chance that you may accidentally destroy the item you are
attempting to resize. Each REFIT attempt costs 100 movement points.
The GUNSMITH command is used to create guns and ammunition. To create
ammunition, you must also have the EXPLOSIVES skill and the CHEMISTRY skill,
and you must be holding gunpowder as a raw material. You can specify the
exact level of the gun you are creating, but you cannot create a gun above
your own level. If you do not specify a level, your current level will be
used as a default.
Syntax: FORGE <weapon> [level]
